Rowena is a visual/digital artist and arts facilitator and to date has had fifteen solo exhibitions. She also been a recipient of bursaries from The Community Foundation of Ireland (2013, 2012, 2010), The Ireland Funds (2011), The Arts and Disability Ireland Awards (The Arts Council + The Arts Council of Northern Ireland- 2005, 2007, 2010, 2013), Tyrone Guthrie Award (Offaly County Council- 2009), Artist in the Community Award (Create + The Arts Council- 2009), The Arts Council (2004).

Her work is in public and private collections including Laois County Council, Offaly County Council, The Dublin-Mid Leinster H.S.E + O.P.W



Rowena’s work uses digital media, photography, animation and socially engaged practice to explore the diverse issues surrounding social inclusion, disability and access to cultural participation by marginalised groups.

Increasingly she has also incorporated the use of new technologies into her practice, partly as a way of engaging with a wider audience and international collaborative partners. Rowena is also deeply committed to working in an arts’ in health context and is an arts facilitator with Anam Beo, an arts’ in health organisation working with older people in residential and day care settings in Co.Offaly. http://www.anambeo.wordpress.com
